Sound and Light Therapy Experience

  • Unit 14, 60 Parton rd, Papmoa Mt Maunganui New Zealand (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The late psychic Edgar Cayce predicted that sound and music therapy would be the medicine of the future. And thanks to ongoing research into the power of sound vibrational healing, this is proving to be the case. ... All matter is energy and in a constant state of vibration, including the human body.

*Jaime Dale and Tahlia Brand come together weekly in Papamoa on a Wednesday evening to bring vibrational tools of light and sound in a small boutique group for a max of 6 people.

What happens:

We will begin the evening with a simple embodied exercise to connect in and deepen with ourselves and each other. Moving into 30 mins of light therapy combined with channelled sound from Tahlia. Her Voice has a huge range and depth to cut through and open to other frequencies, channels, Mother Gaia and help us to remember and connect with our own unique Voice.

Finishing with a gratitude circle to integrate and share experiences.
Allow for around 1hr 15mins

This will be an ongoing weekly event in Papamoa

What is the Pandora star light?

The pandora star light which was developed in the UK by Todd Acamesis and Jimi Simpson. Light Therapy is a highly meditative therapy using light frequency to stimulate the master glands of the brain. Made for brain entrainment, the Pandora Star has 130 different programs. Using a unique inverted triangle array of LED lights that interlock to create a series of hexagrams, Pandora Star stimulates various brain regions by focusing rays of light on the retinas. Through closed eyelids, users experience a “visible” frequency entrainment of kaleidoscopic patterns of colours and psychedelic imagery, which provides an immersive environment for deep level brainwave entrainment.

There are currently only 3 of these machines in NZ. You really need to experience this machine to feel the amazing effects.

These evenings will have many potential benefits including:

Deep meditation

Relaxation

Stress management

Depression management

Creative Visualisation

Personal development

Remote viewing

Energy work

Well-being

Anxiety reduction

Sleep improvement

Cognitive enhancement

Self-hypnosis

Lucid dreaming

Shamanic journeying

 About Jaime:

Working 80 plus hours a week in my restaurant, not seeing my kids and struggling to hold together a failing marriage was the breaking point. I was in the hormones of stress every second of every day and knew I had to get out. The opportunity to move to NZ was the catalyst I needed to change the mess I was. Coming here gave me the opportunity to work on who I wanted to be. Delving deeper into the understanding of the hormones of stress and the science behind it I soon realized that the light, was a bridge of sorts to get people back to their natural state. When we can entrain the brain into slower brain waves, flow and peace start to take place internally and we can start seeing changes in our outer realities. She also offers Theta healing, Coaching, Young Living Oils and a combination of the above in a package specialised for you at her studio in Papamoa.

Testimonial:

I had the opportunity to have a series of light therapy sessions close together (several times a week over 3-4 weeks) and during this time I noticed an increasing quieting of the inner voice and a subtle but growing sense of upliftment. Personally, the more sessions I had the more intense the visuals became during the sessions (colours and patterns). I find the sessions always result in my feeling that I’ve reset my compass and have a clearing to step into irrespective of what I’m currently dealing with in my life. I highly recommend light therapy to anyone who wants to/is ready to explore shifting into the next gear. Jaime’s sensitive and expert guidance at the end of a couple of light sessions helped me to release some blocked emotions and I’m grateful to her for her insight into the power of this work and for making this technology accessible. Tahlia’s powerful voice gave me permission to explore my own voice in ways that I wouldn’t have thought possible in such a short time. Tahlia is a super grounded Goddess of Sound. Hearing her make sound with her voice on its own is like receiving a sound healing, she is inspirational and easy to connect with. She encourages one to really be present and show up, which I loved.

The true magic of my sessions with Tahlia is the effect of her song voice. I try to proceed with an open mind but I was in no way prepared for the profound effect of Tahlia’s voice. It penetrates & pulsates through me & around me. This has quite literally changed my life!

I somehow feel rebuilt but with, a new, stronger foundation. Tahlia’s voice is truly unique, beautiful & powerful. While I have experienced many different treatments & therapies over the years. nothing else has come close to the results that I have experienced with Tahlia

The Songs of Your Body

The Songs of Your Body

Tahlia and Carita come together to combine their years of different trainings and wisdom into this soul-ful package of exploring deeply the body, voice, mind and spirit.

This will be a beautiful nourishing four days combining the elements of Voice, Lomi Lomi, Yoga, Emotional Anatomy, Embodied Counselling and more….

What is the Embodied Voice?

The Embodied Voice is a place to come back to our primal instinctive selves, to feel our Voice as an Erotic instrument, to feel the wild and holy Voice that lives within us. It’s a place of embodiment where we sound through our ‘Whole’ body connecting our feet to the earth and our arms to the heavens. Speaking or singing with the intention to transform, not perform. To express, not impress, to come back to naked vulnerability and truth, at times beyond our conscious awareness. Using tools of deep listening, breath, sound, movement and deep embodied inquiry.

There is absolutely no pre-requisite to have any experience in sound or bodywork as inherently the wisdom of our voice and body reveals itself as we trust in its innocence. This is more a space in which to be curious and explore the own unique quality of your Voice and Body. What does YOUR voice and body bring to the collective synergy and sacredness of the field. We are here to express, remember, allow, and give permission to ALL aspects of our embodied experience.

What is Lomi lomi?

Lomilomi is to touch someone with our heart in our hands with Aloha (unconditional pure love and acceptance). A beautiful and profound Hawaiian massage that uses our hands as the extension of our hearts. We use our breath to connect with self and the other, to create space in our bodies to receive the goodness that’s abundant to us and to remind us to be present. It returns the body to a place of harmony and balance.

The beauty and power of Lomilomi lie in its simplicity in both the giving and receiving. The pre-requisites are an intention to bring comfort and healing, a pair of warm hands and an open heart.

What is Emotional Anatomy?

Our body is like a history book. It carries the stories from our childhood and continues to do so as we develop. Some are short stories, some are novels; Some are fleeting, some hang around a little bit longer. But they are all charged with emotions that are harboured in our bodies. When these emotions are being suppressed, they manifest within our bodies as diseases, dysfunctions and/or distortions. Having an awareness of why our body is the way they are, what are some of the possible underlying emotions that could be responsible for a dysfunction, we empower ourselves to create change to heal our lives. Curiosity and an open mind allow for potential for change, to find YOUR way to more health and freedom in your body, mind and spirit.

What outcomes can I expect from this workshop?

*A deeper experience of your own unique voice and how it presents itself in and engages in the world.

*Deeper listening skills to really hear yourself and others

*Connecting deeply with breath in the whole body

*Introducing the field of sound as a place of creative community building

*Connecting more with your primal voice

Your Facilitators.

Tahlia spent the early part of her life growing up on a sheep farm in the deep south of New Zealand. She was drawn to sing from an early age and pursued a career in Classical Voice for 20 plus years performing in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. In her late twenties whilst in the UK, she became more deeply interested in Sound as a healing Modality and studied with different teachers and courses. She has trained in several different body therapies and is a Kahuna Massage Therapist, Somatic Sex educator and Embodied Counsellor. In 2016 she completed a 9-month Womb apprenticeship with Janine Ma-Ree on the Red Earth in Australia. Tahlia holds a particular passion and interest in the connection between our throat and our sex and what happens as a result of vibrating these together.

Finally, in her own continued journey with how to show up in speaking and singing from an authentic place in the world, Tahlia draws on deep compassion and understanding of the courage and conviction it takes to journey in these places. With her own deep descent, and all the different trainings she has done she now employs a large toolkit in which to draw on to hold this space for others.http://www.tahliabrand.com

Carita deviated from the conventional path of a secured corporate job to become a personal trainer and group fitness instructor in her early twenties. Being quite athletic herself, she loves the physicality of the human body and what it is capable of doing. However, she is also aware that we are more than our physical body. Her fascination and keen interest in the body mind and spirit led her to study Reiki, counselling and life coaching in her earlier years. In the last 15 years, she’s dedicated herself to the practice of yoga and is a teacher of Power Yoga and Yin Yoga. Along the way, she fell in love with Ka Huna Bodywork and Heartworks Lomilomi. Since 2012, Carita has been facilitating Ka Huna Massage courses at Mette’s Institute and holding her own Heartworks Lomilomi Retreats all over Australia. In 2017, she completed her certification in Emotional Anatomy with Chris Knight of Soul Space in Australia.

Carita’s personal journey is about self love and having the courage to stand in her own power and light. Through her own healing journey, she’s discovered her innate capacity to be a strong support, encouraging and inspiring others in her warm and down to earth approach.

Review from a recent workshop participant:

The reverence in the sacred space that was held each and every day by Tahlia felt safe, fun and liberating at the same time. I found that Tahlia was very present to each and every participant and really saw them and listened to their individual needs. The way she imparted her knowledge around consent and boundaries led to a truly safe supportive space being held.

Tahlia’s powerful voice gave me permission to explore my own voice in ways that I wouldn’t have thought possible in such a short time. Listening to my sisters and dancing with them, made for a high energy and reconnecting weekend. I certainly experienced a few good shifts, and the flow on effect of that has inspired me to use my voice (toning) more during my own sessions with clients, and also to hold a dance and meditation space for men and women in my little town, something I had been wanting to do for a very long time, but hadn’t had the courage yet to create.

Tahlia is a super grounded Goddess of Sound. Hearing her make sound with her voice on its own is like receiving a sound healing, she is inspirational and easy to connect with. She encourages one to really be present and show up, which I loved.

I would recommend Tahlia over and over again, if she ran all her workshops the way I experienced this one

Pauline

Carita is a genuine, heartful and grounded facilitator. I so enjoy learning from her. She brings in clarity, connection, funk and a simple joyfulness into all her teachings and kahuna bodywork. Some teaching wisdom that I will always remember from Carita is "the hand is an extension of the heart" and "pain is inevitable, but suffering is an option". These wise words have brought much peace and ease into my life. I would highly recommend Carita as a Hawaiian Bodyworker and Teacher. She is Ace!

There is accomodation available on-site or there are beautiful Air Bnb's to stay in close in this stunning part of Queensland.

Introductory Certificate in Embodied Counselling

I am thrilled to welcome back Deej Juventin (a fellow New Zealander) to New Zealand for this course.

Deej is based in Brisbane and the last time he was here in New Zealand teaching was 2016, so this is a rare opportunity to work with him here on our shores. He has been named Somatic Sex Educator of the year at the Sexual Freedom Awards in London and is the founding president of the Somatic Sex Educator’s Association of Australasia, and co-director of the Institute of Somatic Sexology.

“I have completed this course with Deej alongside Sexological Bodywork and this past year as Peer support/Coach for Sex Bod and find his teaching and approach to be supportive, engaging and invaluable learning. His breadth of knowledge and consistent somatic approach to learning make him an incredible educator and pioneer in his field”. Tahlia Brand

Dates for NZ 2019

April 15 to June 16, 2019. We come together in person for the Embodied Counselling Intensive in Auckland on June 14, 15 and 16. There will be 8 teleconferences before the intensive and different modules to complete in between.

Please note the above dates for this event are only for the intensive. The actual course and first teleconference starts on April 15th

Course Overview:

Effective practitioners need to engage the full lived body, including emotional aspects, for real change to happen. We need simple, effective practices that develop embodied awareness and capacities to fully show up and pay attention at increasingly subtle levels, for both practitioners and clients to live more choiceful, connected and vibrant lives.

The Introductory Certificate in Embodied Counselling is an introduction to somatic psychology and bodymind therapy for holistic, somatic, and spiritual practitioners, including massage therapists, kahuna bodyworkers, sex workers, somatic sex educators, and yoga teachers. It is also useful for counsellors, psychotherapists and other psyc practitioners who want to learn to work more somatically.

The course provides practitioners with practice in effective embodied skills, a broad understanding of psychotherapeutic theory leading to the development of body-based approaches, and practice in conducting embodied counselling sessions.

Building on what you do well, the course develops your capacity to work with the emotional and psychological content that arises during bodywork sessions. You will develop greater confidence to work with your clients’ emotional and psychological selves, expanding and developing your skill set in this direction, and enhancing your capacity to articulate the complex systems in process for human beings, as you further grow in embodied awareness.

“The training was fantastic. It filled in lots gaps in my knowledge, gave me new spaces to fill up with the knowledge I will continue to gather, and affirmed, consolidated and linked together my existing abilities.”

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course students will have:

• Engaged in regular self-practice of body awareness exercises

Sacred Remembering Through Voice and Movement

With your Facilitators Tahlia Brand and Alison Fortes

You are sacred
You are a song that is meant to be sung
A dance worth moving to
A story worth telling

A weekend journey with Tahlia and Alison combining the medicine of Sound and Qoya- an embodiment practice based on the idea that through movement, we remember.

What is the Naked Voice?

The Naked Voice is a place to come back to our primal instinctive selves, to feel our Voice as an Erotic instrument, to feel the wild and holy Voice that lives within us. It’s a place of embodiment where we sound through our ‘Whole’ body connecting our feet to the earth and our arms to the sky. Speaking or singing with the intention to transform, not perform. To express, not impress, to come back to naked vulnerability and truth, at times beyond our conscious awareness. Using tools of deep listening, breath, sound, movement and deep embodied inquiry.

Qoya

Qoya is based on the idea that through movement, we remember. Dance becomes a medicine that flows through us, we remember that at our core we carry deep wisdom, freedom and our wild selves. To find your sovereign truth, and voice through movement, dance and ritual.

Why is this work important?

Sound and Movement are all around and within us. However, in the busyness of living in such a fast-paced environment of external stimuli it can be difficult to tune in and hear ourselves, to feel our bodies, to feel the full expression of our movement and music within

The Naked Voice and Qoya, help us remember those things, that can never be put into words. Like when you see a sunset and your whole body exhales. When you are on a road trip and feeling the sensation of adventure. When you get caught up in the contagious laughter of a child or feel the warmth of your lover's body in bed while it is raining outside. Music and Movement expresses that which cannot be put into words and cannot remain silent.

There is absolutely no pre-requisite to have any experience in sound and movement as inherently the wisdom of our voice and body reveals itself as we trust in its innocence. This is more a space in which to be curious and explore the own unique quality of your Voice and Body. What does YOUR voice and movement bring to the collective synergy and sacredness of the field. We are here to express, remember, allow, and give permission to ALL aspects of our embodied experience.

As part of the Weekend you will leave with your own unique First Light® Flower Essence blend created by Alison

What outcomes can I expect from this workshop?
